We have just started Buster Fleabags by Rolf Harris - Sharing Stories group, Chantry Library.
Residents at the Prince of Wales home in Ipswich are just starting the Six Book Challenge - we've started by sharing one of the stories from the Sun Book of Stories - Sue Francis, At home library service manager.
Hi I work for County Library in Ipswich, and have set up a reading group for some members who have joined the Six Book Challenge, the 1st book we read was 'The Dare' which was a fantastic book and a great starting point for the challenge, yesterday we finished our 2nd book 'Girl on the platform' wonderful read, with a surprising enjoyable ending
As per my previous comment, my name is Marsha Flowers and I'm based at County Library
My reading group are now on our third book called 'All the lonely people' by a wonderful charismatic author called 'Gervase Phinn' we are half way through and so far it seems to be quite a heart felt touching story
We have 22 people doing the 6 book challenge here (including myself and my branch assistant). A lot of people asked for some sort of list they could “pledge” what books they were going to read on as they felt they wouldn’t stick to them otherwise so we have made pledge cards which are now part of our big display for the challenge. A lot of the challengees are looking at books they were made to read at school, and perhaps hated, but they want to see what they would think of them now. A couple are doing 6 books that are favourites of friends or family but not their usual type of read.
I always said my challenge would be to read 6 Mills and Boon - one from each type - will start this weekend!
I think this is a fantastic scheme. Well done to everyone taking part, and carry on reading!
I've done 2 of my 6 so far - will start another one later today!
